Ga. City Offers Post-Holiday Tree, Gadget Disposal
JOHNS CREEK, Ga. (AP) — The City of Johns Creek is inviting neighbors to dispose of Christmas trees, electronics and more this weekend.
City spokesman Doug Nurse says approved items, including cardboard clothing and other small household items, may be dropped off Saturday at the Home Depot on State Bridge Road between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Nurse says those looking to dispose of Christmas trees should make sure to remove ornaments and lights before dropping the trees off.
The city’s solid waste manager, James Swope, says residents are usually invited to dispose of Christmas trees but electronics recycling days are more popular with the community.
Since a many people likely received electronic Christmas gifts, Swope says city officials decided to give people another environmentally friendly opportunity to dispose of unwanted gadgets.
