You’ve seen these military reunions, all kinds of them, from Dads walking into school classrooms, to Dads or Moms running out onto a sports field to surprise someone waiting on the sidelines or in the stands.

But you’ve never seen one like this.

Master Sergeant Joseph Martell returns to Spangdahlem Air Base, home of the 52nd Fighter Wing.

And he’s early.

So he heads out to where his son is playing football for his school team and dons the uniform of the opponent. He watches proudly from the sidelines until several members of each team are called to the middle of the field by the refs to discuss “sportsmanship”. Its really just a disguise so that Martell can remove his helmet, and, well, you’ll grab a tissue…

We promise.

Watch it.
