Top 10, Ok 11, Atlanta Sports Moments Of The Year
We took a look at ALL of the sports coverage we’ve done in 2013 and tried our best to get it down to a Top 10 of sorts… after much arguing, the best we could do is Top 11 (Top 10 with a tie for 5th).
And here’s what we came up with:
10. Georgia Tech Basketball 71-69 Upset win over #6 Miami on the road in March.

3. Bobby Cox getting into the Baseball Hall Of Fame.
The 16-member Expansion Era Committee has cast its ballots, and Bobby Cox, Tony La Russa, and Joe Torre have been unanimously elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Your Atlanta Braves got out to a huge lead in the division and managed to hang on to clinch their FIRST division title since 2005.
1. Falcons win the NFC Divisional Round Playoff against Seahawks.
It now seems light years ago given the teams performance this year, but back in January our Falcons beat the Seattle Seahawks in the Divisional Round of the Playoffs to advance one step closer to the Super Bowl. They of course would fall short, albeit only a few yards short, in their loss to San Francisco in the NFC Championship game. No link on this one… let’s not relive that ON TOP OF what we’ve been through this season… ok?
It was indeed both an amazing year AND a pitiful year in Atlanta sports in 2013…
