ATLANTA – The Maroon Tigers evened their season record, at 2-2, with a 75-37 win over the Oakwood University Ambassadors.
Cruising to their highest margin of victory in more than eight years, the Maroon Tigers delivered win number 200 to head coach Grady L. Brewer. It was the team’s best win since a 84-53 thrashing of Tuskegee, in 2005.
This is Brewer’s 14th season, after serving as an assistant for 13 years under Arthur McAfee, Morehouse’s winningest coach.
Cornez Nesbitt topped all scorers and rebounders, with 19 points and six boards. Nesbitt’s 19 points were a career high. He hit 7-of-8 shots from the field and 3-of-4 free throws, including two three-pointers.
Austin Anderson scored 15 points, to go with three steals.
The Maroon Tigers will take the Thanksgiving holiday off and return to action December 3, when they face the University of West Georgia Wolves, at Forbes Arena, at 7 p.m.
All Morehouse games are free and open to the public.
