Atlanta(WAOK)- Cobb County Representative Alisha Thomas Morgan is announcing her campaign for State School Superintendent. Representative Morgan made the announcement Tuesday on the steps of the State Capitol. Morgan says she feels a sense of urgency and hopes to continue to lead to a better education system.
Morgan has served six terms as Cobb County Representative but says she can not make a change in the school system as a representative. She hopes to lead the statewide school system and provide a vision for what education should look like. She intends to create student centers and promote more parental and community connections in the school system.
Morgan calls for Georgia’s school system to join the 21st century by providing students with new technology in the classroom. She hopes to boost classroom involvement where students are hands on with what and how they are learning.
