Atlanta (WAOK/AJC) — GeorgiaCarry.org has asked a federal judge to throw out a lawsuit that was filed by civil rights group Rainbow Push Coalition and two families. The lawsuit asks that the courts do away with the Georgia self-defense law due to its vagueness and the disparity of its application. The “stand your ground law” has been argued recently in lieu of many shootings that have resulted in deaths or imprisonment, both nationally and locally. The law is not distinct in its view of self defense and many people believe that the law should be done away with.
GeorgiaCarry.org asked the judge to allow them to intervene in the case due to the fact that both the defendants and RPC are not representative of the stance that GeorgiaCarry.org holds regarding personal rights of citizens.
