Mother Arrested On Child Cruelty Charges

Atlanta (WAOK/CBS ATLANTA) – Vivian White from the Lithonia area of Atlanta was arrested on charges of second-degree cruelty to children Tuesday after her child was rushed to a local hospital.

According to Dekalb County Police, several children ranging from 4 to 10 years of age were left alone in her home. EMS responded to the Lithonia home in reference to a 4-year-old choking on a hot dog after the 10-year-old sought help from a neighbor, who then called police.

The child reportedly had no pulse and was suffering from convulsions and foaming at the mouth when paramedics arrived.

As of now, family members are looking after the other children, says police.
