Ga. Sex Offenders To Face Halloween Restrictions
ATLANTA (AP) — Officials with the state Board of Pardons and Paroles say sex offenders under state supervision will be subject to curfews for Halloween and, in some cases, required to report to a certain location during trick-or-treating hours.
State officials say sex offenders will be prohibited from putting up Halloween decorations, having outside lights on and handing out candy.
In addition, parole officers will be teaming up with local law enforcement to visit the homes of sex offenders throughout the evening in most areas of the state. And parole officers will also be monitoring some community events.
State estimates show about 1,148 sex offenders are under parole supervision in Georgia.
