ATLANTA, Ga. (CBS Atlanta) – According to a recent study, Monday is the best day to quit smoking.

Researchers from the Monday Campaigns, a non-profit organization that leads public health efforts, says that visitors to the federal government’s website peaks on Mondays.

“People see Mondays as a fresh start, a chance to get their acts together,” Morgan Johnson, research director for The Monday Campaigns told USA Today.

The researchers also analyzed Google searches for “quit smoking help” in six different languages. They found that between 2008 and 2012 25 percent more searches happens on Mondays.

“We always tell smokers that when they slip, it’s not failure, it’s just part of the process,” Tom Glynn, the senior director of cancer science and trends at the American Cancer Society added to the newspaper.
