SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — A family wants to know why Savannah police shot and killed their pit bulldog.
Tyler Braddy tells WSAV-TV that his family pet Ziggy was kind to children and small animals. He says the dog didn’t have a bad history.
But police say the 100-pound animal was on a vicious rampage through a neighborhood after it got out of the family’s home on Thursday.
Police say Ziggy attacked several people, including two children and two officers, before an officer shot and killed it.
Authorities say a police report on the shooting will be available later.
