Mayor Reed May Not Renew Park Atlanta Contract

Atlanta (WAOK/WSBTV) — Due to aggressive parking enforcement,  Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed says that he may not renew the contract with Park Atlanta. Mayor Reed said that he is aware of the many complaints from drivers about Park Atlanta and a renewal of the contract in 2016 is not likely.

Mayor Reed believes that Atlanta will be in a greater financial position in three years so that it can take over parking and not have worries about Park Atlanta’s $5 Million in revenue for the city each year.

According to the Better Business Bureau Park Atlanta has an F rating, which is a reasonable grade due to the volume of complaints. Many local businesses say they are suffering from Park Atlanta’s parking enforcement tactics.
