Report: Alabama High School Streaker Dead Of Apparent Suicide
HARVEST, Ala. (CBS Atlanta) – An Alabama teen who was facing school disciplinary measures for streaking at a football game has apparently committed suicide, according to the Huntsville Times.
The Madison County coronor said 15-year-old Christian Adamek hanged himself Wednesday and died from his injuries.
Ademek had been arrested for streaking across the Sparkman High football field during a game on Sept. 27.
A video of Adamek running naked across the football field was posted to YouTube and attracted much attention on social media sites.
The teen had been disciplined by the school district and had been facing legal charges that could have ended up placing his name on Alabama’s sex offender registry.
Before the death, Sparkman High Principal Michael Campbell told WHNT-TV on Tuesday that district was taking the streaking incident very seriously.
“Public lewdness and court consequences outside of school with the legal system, as well as the school consequences that the school system has set up.”
On Twitter, Adamek’s sister said he was facing expulsion from school.
The Madison County school district issued a statement saying “our thoughts and prayers are with the family.”
