Atlanta City Councilman H. Lamar Willis responded to the Georgia Supreme Court ruling that he can no longer practice law in the state of Georgia.

Willis was accused of depositing funds from a client’s settlement into his own personal or business account two years ago.

He said depression affected his actions.

He spoke before a group of supporters Monday afternoon on the steps of City Hall.

“I made a grievous professional error. I acknowledge that error. I apologize for it. I apologized for it then and I apologize for it now and today I accept the repercussions of that error,” said Willis.
