On PowerTalk with Lorraine Jacques-White today we had an interesting show concerns and opinions took to the air waves when guest, Rev. Gregory Tatum discussed his Chicago Gang Summit.

As gang violence continues to take a heavy toll on Chicago, some are hoping a so-called “gang summit” will help curb the killings. The effort is led by California pastor, the Rev. Gregory Tatum, who grew up in 1960s Chicago in the now-demolished Cabrini-Green housing project.

It is unclear to quote “Summit” when Chicago Police, guest Rev. Jesse Jackson, the Rev. Al Sharpton and gang members will not be present at this meeting.

Our PowerTalk audience found this unexplainable and wanted to get a little more insight on how Rev. Tatum is going to make this all happen, on the Far South Side of Chicago.

Rev. Tatum would recruit hundreds of gang members to attend, “You cannot reduce violence without bringing the killers to the table.” stated Tio Hardiman, former director of CeaseFire Illinois

Can we really trust him? The terrifying gang war scene that has turned L.A. into one of the most dangerous counties in the country, and you leave 2,000 plus miles to create a Gang Summit in Chicago-raises eyebrows.

Therefore maybe it wasn’t enough strategic planning on how this would all fall into place we will have to wait and see, But before then take a listen to the show and you can form your own opinions.
