Well folks, there you have it. The church has voted, and a deal has been made. Friendship Baptist Church has accepted the $19.5 million buyout for new stadium. Friendship has been at its Mitchell Street location for more than 130 years, and many of its members have mix emotions about the deal. Some are very excited, and feel it’s a great opportunity for the church to start over and rebuild. However, there are others who are disappointed, and that building the stadium is destroying black history.
