SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — Federal prosecutors say a coastal Georgia woman has been sentenced to more than four years in prison for stealing nearly $70,000 from an elderly couple.

Officials said Wednesday that 35-year-old Janeen Lynette Davis of Savannah was sentenced to 51 months in prison for embezzling from an elderly couple.

Officials say Davis worked as a caretaker for the couple and gained access to their finances. Prosecutors say Davis embezzled from the couple for more than a year and has been convicted of several financial crimes in other states.

Davis is also ordered to serve five years of supervised release.
