As the NFL season heads into week 3, there are four words no fan ever wants to hear “Done for the season”. That is the news the Falcons got on Monday finding out that starting defensive end Kroy Biermann and fullback Bradie Ewing will both miss the rest of the season after suffering injuries in Atlanta’s 31-24 win over St. Louis. INJURIES!
Kroy Biermann has a torn Achilles tendon, Bradie Ewing has a separated shoulder. The Falcons lose two starters! One on offense and one on defense. Biermann’s been with the Falcons since 2008, he is 28-years-old so hopefully his career is not over. He started both of the Falcons’ games this season and had played in all 16 games in every season before from 2008 to 2012. It’s going to be hard to replace his experience.
With Biermann out that will mean more playing time for Jonathan Massaquoi and Malliciah Goodman on the defensive line. Biermann also had the ability to line up at linebacker. I feel worse for Brady Ewing, last year in his rookie season he suffered a season-ending injury, that injury was to his knee. Now Ewing’s season is over again with a separated shoulder.
Falcons coach Mike Smith says. “One man’s misfortune is another man’s opportunity. Falcon fans are hoping that is true.
