NEW YORK – The Georgia Bulldogs remain at number nine in the new Associated Press Top 25 football poll released on Sunday. The Bulldogs (1-1, 1-0 SEC) were idle this weekend, getting some rest after a 41-30 win over then-number six South Carolina (2-1, 1-1 SEC) on September 7.

Texas A-and-M (2-1, 0-1 SEC) dropped from sixth to tenth after their thrilling 49-42 loss Saturday to top-ranked Alabama. The Tide (2-0, 1-0 SEC) stay at number one, garnering 59 first place votes. Second-ranked Oregon (3-0, 0-0 PAC 12) drew the other first place vote.

With Texas A-and-M’s loss, Georgia could have moved up a spot to number eight in the rankings. Instead, they were leapfrogged by Florida State. The Seminoles (2-0, 1-0 ACC) were 62-7 winners over Nevada Saturday in Tallahassee.

Georgia Tech is moving closer to the Top 25 following their 38-14 win over Duke Saturday in Durham. The Jackets (2-0, 1-0 ACC) received 17 votes in the new poll, leaving them 43 votes outside the Top 25.
