Kansas City Chiefs Introduce Andy Reid

The Dred vs the Spread

Each week (Friday or Saturday evening) I will post “the Dred vs the Spread” right here on the “Controversial Truth” with your folk, Notty. I will project up to 3 “fa sho” wins and 1 wild card pick. Please note, this is for entertainment purposes only. Its not wise to gamble but if you do, bet at your own risk.

For my 1st “Fa sho” this week, the Patriots should beat Buffalo by more than 10. Yea, I understand Tom Brady is working with a whole new offensive core when it comes to his recievers, but the Bills are going into the game with a rookie quarterback, E.J. Manual, who missed the final preseason game after having minor knee surgery. Jarius Byrd is doubtful. Belichik is Belichik and Brady is Brady…..oh, and the Bills are the Bills. NEXT!

My 2nd “Fa sho” is the Chiefs over the Hags…I mean, Jags. I understand the Chiefs have to travel and that can wear on teams. In this case, expect the Chiefs to wear on the Jags. Blaine is playing with a broken thumb that is not quite 100%. No Justin Blackmon who is suspended. The talent level in this game is lopsided. Andy Reid and Alex Smith should have no problem beating up on the Jaguars by 4 points. This game could get ugly.

My 3rd and final “Fa sho” is the Texans over the Chargers. Once again, the talent level is lopsided. The Chargers have a lot of questions to answer particularly on offense after losing wide out, Danario Alexander, for the season, no Marcus McNeil, 1st round pick Manti Te’o is questionable with an ankle injury. The starting wide outs for the Chargers are, stop me if you have heard of them, Keenan Allen who was a 3rd round pick in this years draft from California and vincent Brown who has not played a snap in 2 seasons and has 19 receptions in 14 career games. If the Texans are to take that next step towards being true Superbowl contenders then they should handle the Chargers on the road and win by 4 or more.

Now for a wild card pick. After what transpired with the Jets this offseason, it may not be a bad idea to take the Bucs (-3.5) against the Jets. I understand Josh Freeman, who recently lost his team captain’s role, is shaky and perhaps the Jets defense will be good again, but turnovers and a lack of a run game could be detrimental to a team going against a revenge seeking Darelle Rivas and the Bucs stud running back, Doug Martin.

Once again, this is for entertainment purposes only. Bet at your own risk. Til next time, thank you and stay blessed.
