[VIDEO] V-103 and WAOK Remember The March On Washington

A half century ago today – Wednesday August 28, 1963 – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. addressed a crowd of 250,000 people from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial at the March on Washington.

Dr. King’s “I Have A Dream” speech that day has been called one of the five greatest speeches ever made by President Barack Obama.

V-103’s Ryan Cameron spoke to several of the Atlanta civil rights icons who not only worked with Dr. King to plan the march, but joined him on it. Dr. C.T. Vivian, Rev. Joseph Lowery, Xernona Clayton, Ambassador Andrew Young, Georgia Congressman John Lewis, Martin Luther King, III and others shared the stories many people didn’t know about how the march and the speech happened.

In case you missed the special this morning, listen now to the story of one of the greatest events in American history: The March on Washington.
