Jason Heyward Leaves Game With Strained Muscle In Neck
Braves right fielder Jason Heyward had to be replaced in the early innings Tuesday night in Washington, as he appeared to feel some pain in his neck after a swing in the first inning. He initially stayed in the game, but was later replaced while on defense by Evan Gattis (who took left field while Justin Upton moved from left to right).
The Braves have announced that Heyward has a muscle strain in his neck and that he’s listed as day to day.
Heyward — who turns 24 later this week — is hitting .234/.339/.386 with 14 doubles, 10 homers, 31 RBI and 50 runs this season. He had, however, been…
