Matt Ryan is the latest young franchise quarterback to cash in. Ryan and the Falcons are finalizing a five-year contract extension that, a source tells’s Mike Freeman, is worth $103 million and includes $59 million in guaranteed money.
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen first reported the deal.

The current list of high-priced quarterbacks includes Joe Flacco ($20.1 million per year, on average), Drew Brees ($20M), Peyton Manning ($19.2M), Aaron Rodgers ($18.7M), Tony Romo ($17.1M), Matthew Stafford ($15.3M) and Eli Manning ($15.27M).

And now Ryan.

The former Boston College standout was the third-overall pick in the 2008 draft, taken 15 spots ahead of Flacco (who, incidentally, is the reigning Super Bowl MVP). Ryan led the Falcons to the playoffs as a rookie but has just a 1-4 postseason record over his career.
