Ex-Roommate Of Slain Officer Faces Murder Charge
ATLANTA (AP/WAOK) – Jail records show the former roommate of a metro Atlanta police officer who was fatally shot faces a murder charge.
U.S. Marshals and Fulton County police arrested 30-year-old Danielle Alexis Parker Tuesday in the slaying of 34-year-old East Point police Cpl. Crystal Parker. Danielle Parker was expected to appear in court Wednesday however she waived her right to appear.
Investigators have not released a motive in the slaying.
Crystal Parker was found dead inside her home south of Atlanta Sunday night. Police say she suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Cpl. Kay Lester with Fulton County police says Crystal Parker may have been dead for three days before her body was found.
Crystal Parker was a six-year veteran of the East Point Police Department and was named the department’s officer of the year in 2012.
