Estranged Wife Of Former MLB Pitcher Arrested For Allegedly Pulling Gun On Husband

COBB COUNTY, Ga. (CBS Atlanta) — The estranged wife of a former Major League Baseball pitcher was arrested for allegedly pulling a gun on her husband while wearing a bulletproof vest.

TMZ reports that Anna Benson, former reality television star of “Baseball Wives” and wife of Kris Benson, went to his apartment in a “rage” Sunday night after a court forced her to vacate their marital home.

Anna Benson reportedly pulled out a metal baton and gun on Kris Benson, demanding cash from him. When he told her he was leaving the house to get her money, Kris Benson called Cobb County authorities.

Anna Benson made a name for herself by posing for Penthouse during her husband’s playing career and saying that if Kris Benson ever cheated on her, she would sleep with all of his teammates. The New York Daily News reports the former pitcher met his future bride while she was a dancer at an Atlanta strip club.

Anna Benson was charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault with a weapon and one count each of criminal trespass and possession of a firearm during a crime.

Kris Benson pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles, Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks over the course of nine seasons. The former No. 1 overall pick in the 1996 MLB Draft finished his career with a 70-75 record.
