ATLANTA (AP) — An archery team from a Chatsworth elementary school has won a world competition.
State officials said Woodlawn Elementary School captured its second world title last week by winning the elementary division at the National Archery in the Schools Program World Tournament. That competition was held in St. Louis.
The Georgia Department of Natural Resources said Woodlawn won a national championship in 2011 and a world champion title in 2010.
Four members from Woodlawn’s archery team won individual medals at the 2013 world competition.
Officials said more than 1,800 archers from Georgia competed in state and regional archery tournaments this year.
