Fourth Man Arrested In Jewelry Store Robbery
ATLANTA (AP/WAOK) – Authorities say a fourth man has been arrested in a fatal shooting and armed robbery at a jewelry store in metro Atlanta.
U.S. Marshals spokesman Gavin Duffy says 21-year-old Cranford Phelps was arrested Tuesday morning in southeast Atlanta. Phelps is accused of being involved in a robbery and shooting June 26 at a store in Villa Rica — about 35 miles west of downtown Atlanta.
Officials have said the men used hammers to break through a glass display case and 45-year-old store owner, Mitch Mobley, was killed in the incident.
Police have already arrested 20-year-old Gregory Clifton, 23-year-old Raphael Rucker and a 16-year-old boy on charges of murder and armed robbery. It’s unclear if the men have attorneys.
