MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) — Cobb County sheriff’s officials say a woman accused of hitting two deputies in the parking lot of the county jail is facing 27 charges.
Col. Milton Beck says 32-year-old Candida Summerlin is being held without bail in the Cobb County jail. Authorities say deputies tried asking Summerlin to turn down music piping from her car in the jail’s parking lot Friday when she hit them with her car and tried fleeing the scene.
Among other offenses, Summerlin is charged with aggravated assault, fleeing and attempting to elude, hit and run and reckless driving.
A warrant says one of the deputies broke a leg when she was struck by Summerlin’s bumper and will have to undergo surgery.
It’s unclear if Summerlin has an attorney.
