ATLANTA (WAOK)-It’s graduation time and for those who are not quite ready to walk across the proverbial stage, it’s also time to get ready for summer vacation. If you are a parent who chooses to enroll your son or daughter into summer camp, here are some suggestions you may want to investigate. Some are free, most are not. (prices vary)

Arrow Global Entertainment Xtreme Performance Arts Summer Camp. The camp aims to educate and inspire Atlanta-area youth through singing, songwriting, dancing, and recording arts instruction.  The program will also include fitness classes, field trips to regional points of interest, celebrity guest appearances, and camp participation from Sammie, Dondria, and Jacob Latimore.

DTLR, and 3 Atlanta-based NFL stars will hold their annual FREE football clinic.  Atlanta Falcons Starter Jonathan Babineaux/2013 NFC Divisoin South Champ, former Atlanta Falcons Chauncey Davis and former Baltimore Ravens Daniel Wilcox will give teens hands-on NFL techniques.  The camp also includes information on the college recruitment process, SAT/ACT preparation and a new workshop on the perils of social media. Camp is for 8 – 12 grade students

Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta offers more than 100 camp options open to ALL GIRLS!  Girls can choose the summer camp experience that best meets their needs. Activities offered at camp vary by age, but favorites include horseback riding, arts and crafts, hiking, swimming, archery and canoeing.  Summer camps begin in early June and run through August 6.  Girls can choose between day camps, or overnight camp experiences.  $$$

ARTHUR LANGFORD, JR. TEEN LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE.

Applications are now being accepted for high school students in the Atlanta Metropolitan area to attend the 2013 ARTHUR LANGFORD, JR. teen leadership institute. This FREE leadership camp runs over a ten week period. This is the 13th year for the camp. It starts on the first Saturday in June. Participants must be 14 to 18 years of age. All participants will receive a laptop computer at the completion of the camp. National Computer Camp  at Oglethorpe University     This is the camp’s 35th year.

The focus of NCC is 2D/3D video game design, computer programming, digital video production, Android App programming, web page design, A+ and Network+ certification, software applications including animation, Flash & graphics. We offer all levels of programming.  Attend 1 or more weeks with an age appropriate continuous curriculum suitable for all levels.  Coed 7-18, beginner to advanced, residential & day programs.
