ATLANTA (WAOK) – A new study suggests lipstick and lip gloss may contain metals at levels that are potentially toxic.

Researchers at the University of California-Berkeley’s School of Public Health tested 32 commonly sold lipsticks and lip glosses and found the presence of lead, cadmium, aluminum and other metals.

The study’s co-author says the levels of such metals could pose health problems in the future. However, she adds that people shouldn’t panic and stresses that more research still needs to be done.
