Obama Pays Tribute To Boston Victims

BOSTON, MA (AP/WAOK) – If the bomber or bombers who struck the Boston Marathon were hoping to “intimidate” or “terrorize” Americans — President Barack Obama says they “picked the wrong city to do it.”

He spoke in Boston today at an interfaith church service in tribute to the three people killed and more than 170 injured.

Like the marathoners themselves, Obama said, “We may be momentarily knocked off our feet,” but that “we’ll pick ourselves up.”

As he paid tribute to a city shaken by what he has called an act of terror, Obama said, “Every one of us stands with you.”

He said Boston gathered today “to reaffirm that the spirit of this city is undaunted.”
