BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) — Two Georgia teenagers have pleaded not guilty to murdering a baby who was shot in the face during what authorities described as an attempted street robbery.

Court records show both 17-year-old De’Marquise Elkins (day-mahr-KEESE) and 15-year-old Dominique Lang entered their pleas in writing and waived arraignment before a judge that was scheduled for Thursday morning in Brunswick along the Georgia coast.

The teens are charged in the March 21 slaying of 13-month-old Antonio Santiago. Authorities say Elkins shot the child in his stroller as he and Lang tried to rob the baby’s mother.

Both teenagers have been charged as adults.
