It’s the 2013 Falcons Mock Draft From the Mind of J-Dub. We are only days away from the NFL Draft, starting April 25th. The Atlanta Falcons by virtue of a successful season in 2012 will be picking at the lower end of the 1st round.  With the “Dirty Birds” interesting off-season, losing the likes of John Abraham, Dunta Robinson, and Tyson Clabo, this draft is so very important to taking the next step and adding depth to the team.  Atlanta added some key pieces in Steven Jackson and Osi Umenyiora but the Falcons must add players through the draft that fit both the team philosophy and offensive and defensive schemes.  They must also prove in a year where the stakes are so high that they can develop players that are drafted.  Here is my mock draft for the Falcons;

Round 1, Pick 30-Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington

Round 2, Pick 60-Sam Montgomery, DE, LSU

Round 3, Pick 92-Cornelius Washington, LB/DE, UGA

Round 4, Pick 127-Tyrann Mathieu, CB, LSU

Round 4, Pick 133-DeVonte Holloman, OLB, South Carolina

Round 5, Pick 163-John Jenkins, DT, UGA

Round 6, Pick 198-Ryan Otten, TE, San Jose State

Round 7, Pick 236-Terry Hawthorne, CB, Illinois

Round 7, Pick 243-Dennis Johnson, RB, Arkansas

Round 7, Pick 244-Omoregie Uzzi, OG, Georgia Tech

Round 7, Pick 249-Quanterus Smith, DE, Western Kentucky
