Would you like to take a trip to Cuba?
For the last 51 years, Americans have not been allowed to travel to Cuba unless they fall under one of the exclusions for travel. Some exclusions include traveling to Cuba for education purposes, missions or opportunities for people to people exchange that benefits both parties.
Well, that didn’t stop Jay-Z and Beyonce from spending their fifth wedding anniversary in Cuba last week.
Now, two Republican members of Congress have asked the U.S. Treasury Department for information on what type of license the two had for the high-profile trip.
Is this celebrity privilege? Why hasn’t President Obama said anything to his friends the Carters? Should they be fined for violating U.S. policy?
