BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) — Police in coastal Georgia say an infant has died after he and his mother were shot in Brunswick.
Brunswick Police spokesman Todd Rhodes says shots were fired in the city’s South End neighborhood Thursday morning. Rhodes says the woman suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the Brunswick Campus of the Southeast Georgia Health System for treatment. Details on where the boy and his mother were wounded were not immediately available, and authorities are unsure of the shooter’s motive.
Rhodes says a man and boy fled the scene on foot and the Brunswick Police Department is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
Brunswick is about 80 miles south of Savannah.
