Back during the 2007-08 NBA season something amazing happen. The Houston Rockets went on a 22 game winning streak. I was just a baby when the 1971-1972 Lakers went on a 33 game winning streak setting the NBA record. I was around to “Witness” the Rockets streak having a talk show in Houston and covering the NBA, and at that time I remember saying we will never see another streak like this, but now I am getting a chance to “Witness” the Miami Heat’s Streak which went to 23 in a row after last night’s win over the Celtics. The Rockets were a team that were build around Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming, but half way through the streak Yao was injured and ended up missing 26 games. The Rockets supporting cast Rafer Alston,Chuck Hayes,Bobby Jackson,Shane Battier…yes Shane Battier was on the 07-08′ Rockets and now he is apart of another amazing streak, the difference is Battier is playing with the best player he has ever played with in Lebron James. He also has two other top 10 players in the league and future Hall of Famer Ray Allen.

Yes, This Heat team is different from the Rockets team that ran off 22 in row. First they are the defending champs, which means they are getting everyones best game. Second, they are more talented than those Rockets and this team was build to win championships. I never thought I would see this again, but we are all “Witnessing” history. I don’t know if the Heat break the record of 33 in a row, but Im going to sit back and enjoy and I suggest you do the same. I will say that because the Rockets were less talented their streak to me, was more impressive but all Respect do when you run off 23 in a row!
