(Chicago, IL) – A Bakersfield, California woman is suing Walgreens over claims the company makes about a vitamin E supplement they sell, which she says is deceptive. The label on the “Walgreen’s Vitamin E 400 IU Dietary Supplement” says it contributes to cardiovascular health by protecting LDL cholesterol. Plaintiff Andrea Trujillo says that’s false and clinical studies show vitamin E doesn’t work that way.
The supplement does contain a label saying the statement has not been evaluated by the FDA. Walgreens is declining comment. The suit was filed in federal court in Chicago.
