ATLANTA (WAOK) – American Airlines and US Airways are teaming up to become the biggest airline in the world. The deal values the combined companies at around eleven-billion dollars. The huge carrier will operate under the American Airlines name and will be headquartered in Texas. The deal comes more than a year after American’s bankrupt parent company filed for protection. A significant corporate and operational presence for the huge carrier will remain in Phoenix, Arizona, where US Airways is based.
