The DeKalb Board of Education has named former labor commissioner Michael Thurmond as their interim superintendent. Board commissioner Eugene Walker states, “We are delighted Mr. Thurmond has agreed to serve as our interim superintendent…our school district is facing significant challenges and we need a leader with a strong track record making fundamental changes in large complex organizations.” We had the opportunity to Talk to Michael Thurmond about his plans for Dekalb County School System.
