ATLANTA (AP) — A man who fatally shot an 11-year-old boy while he was aiming for the boy’s older brother has pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://bit.ly/U7bilh) reports 21-year-old Cody Dane Bauer was sentenced Monday to life without the possibility of parole plus 675 years in the death of Nicholas Sheffey in February 2010.
Authorities say Sheffey was shot in his head as he slept. Authorities say Bauer was targeting the boy’s 16-year-old brother, who was accused in a 2009 robbery.
Two others, Alexander Sidloskas and Stedmund Anthony, were also arrested in the shooting on charges of murder, aggravated assault and gang activity.
They pleaded guilty last year and were sentenced to 50 years in prison — 25 of which will be served on probation.
