Atlanta(WAOK)-Hundreds attended the Atlanta Public Schools Youth Violence Town Hall Saturday held at the Atlanta Board of Education Center for Learning and Leadership Auditorium. A town hall panel of kids who represented area schools answered questions about the daily happenings in their school, what they witnessed with fellow students when it came to violence and bullying and how the adults viewed violence at their school. The event brought out elected officials, parents and law enforcement. Sterling Christy who is the principal of Price Middle School where a student was shot recently attended the town hall meeting,
“I think this town hall is one of the the best ways to find out whats happening in our schools” Christy says.
The Town Hall organized by district 1 board of education member Brenda Muhammad was put together to get a better perception about what’s happening to youth inside and outside of their schools and to find a solution to ending youth violence.
