ATLANTA (AP/WAOK) – Atlanta’s police chief is proposing city leaders draft legislation to banish convicted prostitutes from the city.
Officials say Police Chief George Turner has asked city council to approve a law aimed at ordering convicted prostitutes not to return to areas where they were arrested. The proposed law calls for an offender to be rearrested if they are found in the same area where police initially arrested them.
The legislation calls for a prostitute convicted for a second time to be banished from city limits forever.
The Atlanta City Council Public Safety Panel is set to discuss the proposal today.
