MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) — Police in Marietta say nearly 700 people have registered for its gun safety seminar, eclipsing the 100 who typically register for the event.
The seminar is scheduled to begin at 6:30 Thursday evening and is being hosted at the Marietta Middle School Auditorium.
Police say they had to find a new location to host the event in response to the overwhelming number of registrations.
Aside from firearms safety, officials say the event also covers the state’s concealed carry laws, use of force, recommended home defense weapons, civilian and elderly nursing homes stun guns and the use of pepper spray.
Police say the department usually hosts two or three firearms safety seminars every year.
