ATLANTA (WAOK)-More people play the lottery in Georgia than in any other state. More players means that more money is available to fund HOPE Scholarship programs. Georgia Governor Nathan Deal is proposing to increase funding for the HOPE Scholarship program by 3 percent after the start of the 2013 legislative session which begins Monday, January 14.
The governor also said he will restore the pre K calendar to the full 180 days because of the extra money. The Hope Scholarship program was cut two years ago and students who were offered full scholarships received 90 percent of their tuition.
