Playoff time and the injuries are getting fewer and far between with the teams disappearing by the minute. Of course some injuries this week have been very magnified.
– Like Robert Griffin III staying in the Redskins Wild Card Game loss to the Seahawks, before eventually tearing his knee up further. Reports say today, that RG3 went through an operation to repair his LCL and ACL. He expects to be back for the beginning of next season.
– Good news for the Falcons, Jon Abraham is back at Falcons practice today for the first time since spraining his ankle against the Buccaneers in the regular season finale. Dunta Robinson (head injury) and William Moore (hamstring) both came back to practice last week.
– Seahawks will be without their leading sack man Chris Clemons for the rest of the season with a torn ACL and meniscus. The former Georgia Bulldog defensive end had 11 and a half sacks this season.
– 49ers defensive end Justin Smith returned to practice last week to test out his torn triceps and did so wearing a protective brace. However, San Francisco defensive coordinator Vic Fangio says he will pull Smith from Saturday’s game if he’s not productive due to the issue.
