CHEROKEE COUNTY – (WAOK/AJC) – A special election on Tuesday saw a light turnout for residents in parts of Cherokee and Fulton counties, who are electing a replacement for outgoing state Senator Chip Rogers. Rogers, a Republican, resigned his seat in December to accept a position with Georgia Public Broadcasting. Voters will have to choose between Brandon Beach and former state Representative Sean Jergeson. Polls will remain open Tuesday until 7-00pm.
