Avery Johnson of the Brooklyn Nets was fired Thursday after the team’s 14-14 start. The Nets and Johnson started the season hot with an 11-4 record. Johnson was named Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for October and November during that span. However, the Nets won only three of their 13 games in December, prompting the coaching change.

According to sources, P.J. Carlesimo has been named the interim coach.
