ATLANTA (WAOK/AJC) - UPDATE: Former WNBA star Chamique Holdsclaw turned herself into Atlanta Police Thursday on various charges in connection with an altercation with a former girlfriend. She is being held in Fulton County Jail.
Atlanta police issued a warrant for Holdsclaw on a variety of charges, including aggravated assault, after investigators say she fired a gun into the car of Jennifer Lacy; who describes herself as her former girlfriend.
Lacy says Holdsclaw confronted her outside a gym in northeast Atlanta on Tuesday, and says after she drove to a friend’s home on Hemphill Avenue, Holdsclaw broke the windows out of her car with a baseball bat, and then shot into the SUV, before driving away.
Lacy – currently a WNBA player – was not harmed.
The 35-year-old Holdsclaw lives in Smyrna and played 12 seasons in the WNBA, including the 2009 season with the Atlanta Dream, before retiring from the game.
Lacy, who once played for the Dream, is now on the Tulsa Shock.
