ATLANT (WAOK)-V-103 and WAOK personalities helped raise thousands of dollars for Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless on Monday. The annual fundraiser took place at two Kroger locations from 6 am until 8 pm. All day personalities at the Kroger Supermarket in Duluth challenged their counterparts at the Stone Mountain location to match and even surpass their efforts.
A challenge between Kenny Burns and Frank Ski during the morning answered the organization’s need for rice for the annual Thanksgiving Dinner. Between both personalities the shelves at both Kroger stores were cleaned out of all of the rice. Over 100 turkeys were purchased, hundreds of large cans of vegetables including corn and string beans, gravy, spices, sugar and napkins were all part of the donations collected during the day.
Donations are being accepted until 8 pm tonight but if you miss the Kroger event you can also donate on line and by text on your mobile phone.
