FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. (CBS Atlanta/AP) — Authorities have recovered a 19-year-old Tennessee man who crashed into a ravine in Alabama and spent three days trapped in the wreckage before he could crawl free.
Tyler Campbell was spotted Tuesday by a truck driver who saw him lying beside Interstate 65 in Limestone County, Ala., just south of the Tennessee border.
Authorities had been looking for Campbell since he was reported missing on Saturday. He told officials the accident occurred that day.
“Tyler is just a special person,” his father, Lee Campbell told WAFF News.
Campbell was being treated in a hospital for leg and arm injuries.
“I don’t believe in luck. It was the Lord. It was 100 percent in his plan, and his will, and his way,” the father added to the station. “He talked to my son through the whole thing, and I would say, per that Tyler told me, they’ve become very close.”
