It was on this date in 1993 that Atlanta native Evander Holyfield recaptured the WBA and IBF heavyweight championships from Riddick Bowe at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. The fight was temporarily stopped in the 7th round when a parachutist landed near the ring.
